Beirut, May 6, 2019: During a ceremony held at the Movenpick Hotel on the 17th of April, Promedz celebrated its 11th anniversary in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ghassan Hasbani, Minister of Health Dr. Jamil Jabak represented by the Director of the Medical Care Directorate at the Ministry of Public Health Dr. Joseph El Helou, and Deputy Dr. Fady Alameh and a group of doctors and professionals.
During the ceremony, Promedz honored Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ghassan Hasbani for his contribution and influence in the health awareness campaigns over the years, as well as for the efforts he made during his tenure as the Minister of Health in the previous government, especially the Epilepsy Campaign and the campaign that highlighted the loss of hearing problem for newborns.
It is worth noting that Promedz is a specialized healthcare solutions provider representing world leading manufacturers of medical equipment and devices in Lebanon. The team of specialized engineers design and equip surgical, sterilization and medical furniture in hospitals, in addition to providing the latest technologies for cardiovascular diseases, brain and nerves, column Spine and hearing impairment.
Mr. Hady Bsat, General Manager of Promedz, welcomed the attendees saying, “Our journey began 11 years ago, and we would not be able to reach what we are today were it not for the support of our suppliers first, and the Ministry of Health that hasn’t spared any efforts to help us shed light on the less popular diseases and their impact on society.” Mr. Bsat also thanked Mr. Nabil Haddad, Chairman of IPT Powertech Group, for “his belief in the health sector and his continued support for Promedz, which allowed us to be one of the strongest companies in this field.”
Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ghassan Hasbani stressed the great impact of technology in the health sector and expressed the pride of the Lebanese state of Promedz for its technical innovation and its contribution that has come at the heart of the Lebanese need. “Technology has a big role to play, not only in developed societies, but also in societies with limited budgets and a complex financial situation, and this shows in the awareness campaign for people with Epilepsy that Promedz did and I witnessed,” he said, “We are proud of Promedz and similar companies for their efforts in making the health sector in Lebanon the first in the Middle East, and we hope that we can continue to provide an incubator environment to enable you to continue your successes and achievements.”
Dr. Joseph El Helo, representative of the Minister of Health Dr. Jamil Jabak, discussed the improvement that the Health Care sector is making and expressed his thankfulness to Promedz for their continuous support to the ministry saying: “Despite the limited budget of the ministry of Health, we were able to help more than 289,000 patients in 2018 alone to get treated. In a study conducted by Bloomberg, Lebanon’s health sector ranked 32rd last year and 28 for this year, and ranked first in the Middle East. This is a sign of the progress of the health care sector in Lebanon,” he said, hoping that Lebanon would be among the top ranks in the coming years.
In his turn, Deputy Fady Alameh said; “The digital revolution has become the basis in every field, and the medical field is no exception. Access to immediate information has become a necessity, especially in the health sector, and health care systems are moving in this direction.” He added: “This transformation has many benefits for stakeholders such as doctors, specialists and patients, as it helps in improving the patient-physician relationship and access to patients’ files in a systematic and precise manner, especially through mobile applications, as well as providing more patient-focused care while reducing total health expenditure, and delivering primary health care for patients in rural areas.”
At the end of the ceremony, Mr. Bsat thanked everyone who made this event successful and stressed their continued support to the medical sector in Lebanon and the region wishing that a great effort will be exerted in the development and equipping of all hospitals in Lebanon in the next stage. Promedz also launched DRAPP, a mobile application that allows patient-doctor relationships and conversations.
