Some websites and social media channels have reported that residents at the Rafic Hariri University Hospital from the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine have refused to stay, work and volunteer in dealing with patients affected with the COVID-19 virus.
The management of the LAU and the LAU School of Medicine would like to clarify that all of its residents at the Rafic Hariri University Hospital are specialists in surgery, obstetrics and gynecology and are absolutely unqualified to deal with bacterial and pulmonary conditions nor in preventive and internal medicine.
Note that all of the LAU School of Medicine residents are still present in the Rafic Hariri University Hospital and are exercising their duties and responsibilities as usual and the team is ready to assist if the need arises.
