Beirut, March 27 2015: In collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) the EuroMena Funds held a Corporate Governance Workshop on March 27, 2015. With transparency and accountability at the core of their investment approach, the aim was to equip their portfolio companies with the tools to implement sound Corporate Governance processes and structures.
This event came following the Investors for Governance & Integrity (IGI) declaration signed by the Fund in 2014.
Targeting chairmen, board members, senior management of the EuroMena Funds’ portfolio companies, the workshop included several international speaker from the IFC: Darrin Hartzler, Manager, Corporate Governance; Sanaa Abouzaid, Corporate Governance Lead Middle East and North Africa; Yehia El Husseiny, Corporate Governance Officer Middle East and North Africa; as well as guest speaker Yasser Akkaoui CEO of Capital Concept.
Noting that good Corporate Governance can help companies improve performance, increase access to finance, and foster sustained growth; the session was designed to be interactive, whereby participants discussed their challenges and determined how to instill best practices in their own organizations.
