Bringing awareness about the importance of innovation and nurturing Lebanese talents
Beirut, 29 May 2019: Resource Group, an investment group with a portfolio of diversified businesses, supported “USJ Entrepreneurship Awards 2019”, a competition organized by the Career and Placement Office at Saint-Joseph University (USJ) to inspire students to engage in the entrepreneurial journey.
The US$10,000 prize was equally divided between the two winning projects during an official ceremony that took place at USJ’s Campus of Social Sciences in Beirut on May 13, 2019. The first project is “Remedo” by Jean Ibrahim, an Economics student, and the second project is “Likalo” by Anthony Barakat and Gaëlle Atallah, both Marketing students along to Elio Gerges, a Computer Science student. The winners will also benefit from Berytech’s follow up to support them pursuing their projects.
The winning projects were selected among five preselected projects by a panel of judges that Resource Group was part of, represented by Eric Abouzeid, Senior Manager – Head of Financial Planning and Analysis.
On this occasion, Resource Group Chairman and CEO Hisham Itani said: “We are pleased to support USJ Entrepreneurship Awards 2019 which allows young talents to develop their skills and their ideas, learn from industry experts, and access funding. The competition strongly resonates with our aim to support creative ideas and ultimately reverse the brain drain in Lebanon.”
