On Thursday 2nd of June 2016, OPERA GALLERY BEIRUT welcomed for the first time in Lebanon the world renowned artist LITA CABELLUT to hold her first solo exhibition after being showcased all around the world, from Paris to Seoul.
This night, hosted by OPERA GALLERY BEIRUT represented by its owners and collectors Mr. & Mrs. Georges Chalhoub, and Cynthia Sarkis Perros – LUXURY LIMITED EDITION gathered an elite guest list with the presence of Mr. Manuel Duran, Deputy Head of Mission in the Spanish Embassy.
When entering the exhibition, Cabellut’s audience was transported by her mysterious and magical world of fairy tales and flowers tailor-made for Lebanon. Among her collection were magnificent flower installations, symbolizing the continuous rebirth of human kind. Portraits of passionate women in striking colors embellished the walls of the gallery embodying the dream, the secret wish, the hidden emotions and the enveloping passion of fairy tales characters were also part of this empowering collection entitled FAIRY FLOWERS.
Over the years, Cabellut has developed a unique technique that yields an inimitable quality and texture to her work, painting large-scale portraits incorporating traditional fresco techniques with modern applications of oil paint.
