BeirutMakers collective presents REBOOT, a display of their latest objects and designs from October 15th until October 17th, 2020, in Maria Halios Design Gallery, on Pharaoh Street in Mar Mikhael. The gallery will open its doors with a discussion with the neighborhood business owners and residents, scheduled on October 15th at 5PM, and moderated by Rani Al Rajji. The objects will remain on view through October 16th and 17th from 2 to 7 PM. Masks are mandatory!
REBOOT presents objects locally developed by the BeirutMakers collective. These objects represent new directions being taken in the collective’s design practice with digital fabrication to address current challenges, environmental concerns and the state of our socio-economic situation. It brings together a display of materials, digital fabrication technologies, and local designs, to exhibit and hopefully create new possibilities for the future. The aim is for the collective to understand the needs of the community, through discussion and collaborative efforts, in order to develop in the near future, more appropriate responses to specific needs and challenges facing the businesses and residents of Mar Mikhael.
REBOOT showcases objects by Spock Design (Kamal Aoun & Karim Chaaya), Guillaume Crédoz, Nathalie Hadechian, Farid Harb, Philippine Harb, Alexandre Ibrahim, Yehia Jammoul, Charbel Tannous, Mazen Zahalan, and Nada Zeineh, and is curated by Valérie Nseir, and Rani Al Rajji.
