Dubai, 26th May 2015 – The Global Youth Forum (GYF) 2015 took place this year in Dubai, organized by the CSR Division of Al Ahli Holding Group (AAHG) in partnership with Dubai SME and sponsored by Sony Mobile, Zabeel Ladies Club, Emirates Islamic Bank, Microsoft, DP World and Grand Midwest Hotels. Aiming at boosting the social entrepreneurship spirit, knowledge and practice among youth, the GYF included two competitions; one on UAE local level and another on a global level.
As for the international competition, the Lebanese social project “Tabadol” won the $10,000 award. The project team members who are Leah El Korh, Grace Sawma, and Imad Sulaiman, showed high level of passion and determination to engage skilled unemployed and
retired adults in a mutual learning experience with youth.
It worth to mention that Tabadol team members have been trained for 7 days at the CSR in Action workshop Lebanon through Al Ahli CSR youth development programs; accordingly have been eligible to compete in the GYF’s international competition with six teams from different countries like UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, UK and Argentina.
Mr. Mohamad Khammas, the CEO of Al Ahli Holding Group has hosted the winners in the group’s head office in Dubai and awarded them the $10,000 cash prize. “We are proud to support such talented and socially responsible youth and entrepreneurs, Tabadol project has a brilliant social idea that deserves the support and encouragement indeed”, Mr. Khammas said.
Tabadol team members have expressed their gladness of winning the award, which will give them the opportunity to launch their social enterprise, targeting
skilled unemployed and retired adults in Lebanon by giving them the opportunity to transmit to youth their technical skills in the field they know best. It is a mutual learning experience.
