L’Oréal Levant and the National Council for Scientific Research-Lebanon (NCSR) announced December 2nd as the date for celebrating L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women In Science” Young Talents Program for the Levant region. The 7th edition will be exceptionally hosted online this year, on both Facebook & YouTube.
6 women from Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria and Jordan were recognized for their outstanding research projects in different scientific fields.
Each year, the Levant program recognizes three talented PhD students and three post-doctoral researchers, for the quality of their research work. Each fellow receives a grant to support their projects in their chosen fields, which is an incentive to pursue a brilliant career in science in the Levant countries.
Philippe Patsalides, Managing Director, L’Oreal Levant announced that exceptional times call for exceptional measures. Today, it is more important than ever to reaffirm our commitment to honor the women who can change the world and to lend them our support.
The L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women In Science” Levant Young Talents Program, launched in 2014 in partnership with the National Council for Scientific Research-Lebanon (NCSR), aims to promote and empower Arab women scientists from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Palestine, and to acknowledge their crucial role in the development of the region.
