Byblos Bank Headquarters, Friday, 26 February 2016: Byblos Bank held a lunch in honor of the newly elected president of the Lebanese Contractors’ Syndicate of Public Works & Buildings (LCS) Maroun El Helou, the former president cheikh Fouad El Khazen, and the members of the Syndicate’s Board. The event took place at Le Maillon restaurant in Beirut and was also attended by members of the LCS and a number of Byblos Bank Group managers.
In his speech for the occasion Dr. Francois Bassil, Chairman of Byblos Bank Group, congratulated the newly elected president of LCS and insisted on the vital role played by the syndicate towards the development of the country’s Economy. “The executive, legislative and judicial authorities should provide the construction sector with all the needed tools to reinforce its immunity and to consolidate its competiveness. This should allow it to qualify for the creation of more job opportunities for Lebanese youth both locally and regionally, to strengthen cash flow and to increase national wealth.” He added: “Byblos Bank is, as always, ready to pursue its support to the Lebanese Contractors’ Syndicate and its members by providing specific banking products and services, which cater to their needs. We are also ready to support this vital sector in its path to modernization and in its current and future activities in Lebanon and the region.”
For his part, Mr. Maroun El Helou, thanked Byblos Bank for the homage. He also expressed his profound esteem towards Dr. Bassil both on the personal and professional levels while praising him for his successful endeavors in the private sector and in public services. He said: “We look forward to working together hand-in-hand towards the ratification of the public-private partnership law. This law will help in attracting foreign investors and will allow Lebanese banks to invest their liquidity surplus in the country’s infrastructure namely: electricity, water, renewable energy and roads”.
