Beirut, 1st of July 2019: The Beirut Design Week 8th Edition was launched under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture on Monday July 1st at its main venue hidden nestled between the walls of Starco monument.
Design and art aficionados, VIPs, media representatives, bloggers and influencers attended the opening ceremony and discovered this year’s “Design and Nostlagia” iconic venue and participating artists and designers out of the box creative work.
The venue was selected on purpose, in line with the theme; Starco stands tall in the heart of Downtown Beirut as a timeless monument. It became a familiar landmark but it also has broken the barrier between the past and the present. As BDW’s main venue, organizers aimed to honor its memory as a historical asset in Beirut
The Beirut Design Week 8th edition revealed the grand cru work of both local and international creative actors and leaders offering them a space to explore the relationship between nostalgia and the different design disciplines that have blossomed across the years and offering guests a mesmerizing glance at Beirut’s precious “golden days” while projecting a futuristic perspective of the Lebanese design industry.
