Beirut, September 12, 2017 – Ets. F.A. Kettaneh, the exclusive distributor of Audi cars in Lebanon, participated in the 3rd edition of the Classic Car Show, held from September 7-17 in Beirut Souks, featuring the classic Audi Sport Ur-quattro from 1985 and the all-new Audi S5 Coupe.
The Classic Car Show featured more than 90 cars from past decades. On display was the classic Audi Ur- Quattro from 1985 in red, owned by Michel Elias Khoury. Mr. Khoury said:” I finally managed to purchase my dream car in 2012. Back then I had to close my office for 7 months so I could restore it and since then, I treat it as one of my children, with as much care and love”.
Audi achieved a milestone in the automotive history with this quattro permanent all-wheel drive in 1980. No other manufacturer offered a fast-running and light all-wheel drive for high-volume production the way Audi did for the quattro. The revolutionary technology made a dazzling debut at the 1980 Geneva International Motor Show in the new Audi Ur-quattro, a coupe with a boxy shape and 147 kW (200 hp). Over eight million models with quattro technology have been built to date, making Audi the world’s most successful manufacturer of premium cars with permanent all-wheel drive. From compact cars to saloons to supercars, quattro is synonymous with legendary traction, sure handling and a unique and exclusive brand of driving pleasure.
The all-new Audi S5 Coupe offers sportiness and progressiveness in its purest form. It is powerful and efficient as usual, with the newly developed turbo V6 engine of the S5 Coupe at 354 hp. For the first time ever, the new quattro ultra technology is made available and the design elements of its predecessor are refined – for example, the shoulder line now runs in three dimensions in the form of a wave. The curved lines above the wheel arches visually point to the standard all-wheel drive quattro. The S-specific details, such as the radiator grille with double lamella, the exterior mirrors in aluminium look, and the S5 badge, emphasise the supreme sportiness of the S5 Coupé. The efficiency-optimised drive of the all-new Audi S5 Coupe feels like there is no difference from continuous systems in terms of traction and driving dynamics.
