Beirut, 14 December 2015: The “Foundation Lebanon Cinema” organized in collaboration with BankMed and the “Yacht Club” of “Zaitunay Bay” a one of a kind exhibition called “Tonight,” which included 250 original cinema posters presented by the Lebanese publisher Abboudi Abu Jaoudé, on Tuesday, December 8th at the “Yacht Club” in Beirut, simultaneously with the release of his book on cinema in Lebanon.
Nelly Chucair Zeidane, the owner of Stylartz, took care of the organization of the project at the “Yacht Club” and of the technical design of the posters, at the request of Mrs. Maya de Freige, President of the “Foundation Lebanon Cinema.”
Mrs. Zeidane presented the posters in a modern pop art framework to attract all generations and encourage them to learn about the history of cinema in Lebanon, to shed light on this rare collection, and to evoke, through this exhibition held for the first time in Lebanon, the golden era during which Lebanon was a decorative frame for Lebanese and foreign filmmakers.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture Mr. Raymond Areiji and an elite group of diplomats, Lebanese artists and film lovers as well as members of the media. The atmosphere reflected
nostalgia of a past characterized by unforgettable films . Due to public demand, the exhibition was extended until December 22.
