Opening of Someco International


The opening of Someco in Al-Karantina under the patronage of the Minister of Economy

The grand opening ceremony of Someco International was held under the patronage of the Minister of Economy Raed Khoury, represented by his adviser Nadine Nehme.

The event was attended by Swedish Ambassador Jürgen Lindstrom, Consul of Korea In Mok Lim, Italian Trade Attaché Francesca Zadro, Counselor at the French Embassy Jamila Annan, General Hussein Khachfe and economic and social figures.

The managing director of Someco International, Fadi Chehab, spoke at the ceremony and emphasized his great confidence in the Lebanese economy. He talked about the emergence of Someco International, its expansion in the MENA region and praised the strategic objectives and marketing plan of the company.

Someco International was founded in the 1960s and joined the Roots Group of Companies in 2006, which is located in the Middle East and Africa and serves the construction and industry sector with excellence. They aim to provide the Lebanese market and neighboring countries with the best construction equipment and industrial machinery, in their strategic plan to expand their operations, in order to meet growing demand on their products in Lebanon and the Middle East.

Someco International is a leading agent of Atlas Copco, a manufacturer of industrial air and gas compressors. It is the world’s first in its class with its mobile models, which are also available in an industrial model for Lebanese manufacturers, in the process of growth and development. In addition, they provide the French brand Haulotte, the world’s leading crane brand, as well as loader backhoes by the American brand Case, Korean Forklift Doosan and other bulldozers and generators of world-renowned brands.

The company covers an area of 1500 square meters, and currently employs 25 employees in various departments who are experienced, competent and trained according to international standards.

The Al-Karantina area was chosen for its geographical proximity to the city of Beirut, which will make it easier for the company to provide its diverse products to its customers in different regions of Lebanon.
