BAFF intramuros, will take place in the two cinema theaters at Metropolis Empire Sofil – Ashrafieh, from 8 to 13 November 2016. BAFF extramuros will take place from 16 to 20 November in the following cities around Lebanon: Tripoli Café Culturel with March Association, Saida Musée du Savon Audi Foundation, Nabatiye Stars Cinema and Tyro Istanbouli Theater, as well as at eight of Greater Beirut universities AUB, USJ, UL, ALBA, USEK, LAU, Université Antonine and NDU. A fine selection of 45 recent documentaries on art will be screened during those 2 weeks. They will feature archeology, architecture, art collections, cinema, contemporary art, dance, design, divas, fashion, literature, masterpieces, museums, music and photography; BAFF is an invitation to a wonderful journey into the mystery of creativity, through documentaries. BAFF is not a contest. It is rather an open space dedicated to beauty and culture; rendered possible thanks to the sustained determination of its generous donors, partners, sponsors and, the dedication of its organizers and workers. Created in 2014, BAFF’s mission is essentially cultural: increase awareness and appreciation of art to a wide audience both in Lebanon and the Middle East, highlight achievements of film, video and television professionals, bring together an audience of all ages around the film, as an expression of modern culture, and support production and dissemination of documentaries on cultural life in Lebanon. With Asmahan, Picasso, Callas, Peggy Guggenheim, Warhol, Zaha Hadid, Amy Winehouse, Marlon Brando, Alain Delon, Mozart, Shakespeare, Carmen, Sol LeWitt, Alexander McQueen and many more, during November, Beirut and Lebanon will glitter rays of sophistication, glamour and refinement.
